WhatsApp channel setup

Connect your WhatsApp Business number so the bot answers there too — official Meta Cloud API, step by step.

WhatsApp is part of the Growth plan and above. Zedinga uses the official WhatsApp Business API (Meta Cloud API) — no unofficial gateways, no risk to your number.

What you need from Meta first

Meta's side takes longer than ours. In the Meta for Developers portal you'll need:

  1. A Meta app with the WhatsApp product added, and a verified business.
  2. Your Phone Number ID (from the WhatsApp API setup page).
  3. A permanent access token.

If you get stuck on Meta's side, contact us — we'll walk you through it.

Zedinga's side (5 minutes)

In your bot's Settings tab, WhatsApp section:

  1. Enter the three fields: Phone Number ID, Access Token, and a Verify Token (any string you choose).
  2. In Meta's webhook configuration, set the callback URL to https://zedinga.ai/api/whatsapp/webhook, paste the same Verify Token, and subscribe to message events.
  3. Enable the WhatsApp toggle on the bot.

How it behaves

  • Incoming WhatsApp messages are answered by the bot from the same knowledge base as your website widget — the two channels never contradict each other.
  • Replies arrive in the customer's language (auto-detected).
  • Conversations appear in your dashboard tagged as WhatsApp, alongside web conversations.
  • When a handoff happens, your agent replies from the Live Chat inbox and the answer flows back out through WhatsApp — the customer never leaves the thread.
