Bot settings that matter
Persona, languages, strict grounding, fallback message, business hours, pausing — the switches that shape how your bot behaves.
All of these live in your bot's Settings tab.
Persona and tone
Choose how the bot speaks: professional, friendly, technical, sales-focused — or write a fully custom persona. The persona changes tone, never facts: answers still come only from your knowledge base.
Languages
Set the bot's primary language and leave auto-detect on: visitors get answered in their own language (12 supported) from the same knowledge base — no per-language setup.
Strict grounding
The honesty dial. With strict grounding ON, the bot answers only when your knowledge base actually contains the answer; anything else gets your fallback message. Recommended for businesses where a wrong answer costs money or trust (pricing, legal, medical adjacent).
Fallback message
What the bot says when it doesn't know. Make it useful: point to your phone, WhatsApp or contact form. Every fallback moment is also logged to the Unanswered tab so you can fill the gap.
Business hours & timezone
Set your working hours (in your own timezone). Outside those hours, the human-handoff flow tells visitors your team is offline and the bot keeps handling what it can.
Pausing a bot
Pausing stops the widget from answering without deleting anything — useful during major website rewrites. Your knowledge, conversations and settings stay intact until you reactivate.
Appointment booking
Connect Google Calendar (Integrations) and the bot can offer available slots and book appointments straight into your calendar — configured per bot in Settings.
